EIGHTH BIENNAL FESTIVAL OF ARTIST BLACKSMITHS
IN KOLBERMOOR

Dear friends, dear artist blacksmiths all over the world,
We like to invite you all to the 8th Biennal of Artist Blacksmiths in Kolbermoor, which is taking place in
the city of Kolbermoor, which is a member of the Ring of European Cities with Ironworks and is in
Upper Bavaria near Rosenheim, round about 50 kilometers south-east of Munich. You can get there
by train from Munich in round about half an hour.
The organizers of the blacksmithing biennal in Kolbermoor will present the variety of the blacksmithing
craft this year. Artistic metal design, applied blacksmithing art, casting, horseshoeing and other facets
of the blacksmith's craft are shown. For the participating blacksmiths, there is an extensive lecturing
program with information about marketing, work-related procedures and about the use of steel and iron
as well as other materials.
In addition, blacksmithing courses with artist blacksmith Helmut Brummer are held. He guides
beginners in working with the new MECU bronze "Ecoform" and arranges communicates tricks for
perfect processing. An extensive supporting program is offered on all days. Detailed information with

Reserved hotel-rooms are available for the participants, as always there are also shared quarters
available for cheap prices. For campers and trailer-drivers, a parking place is reserved near the
blacksmithing place. Tents can also be put up. The organizers of the Biennal, the European Center for
Contemporary Metal Design, invite cordially their blacksmith friends from all over Germany, Europe
and Overseas, also from the artist blacksmith associations and from the cities in the Ring of the
European Cities with Ironworks -- also in the name of the City Kolbermoor and its Mayor Peter Kloo.
